Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will prepare an agreement on the organization of joint production of agricultural machinery and cars. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
It became known after negotiations between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Hodjaev and Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Musa Djamanbaev.
During the meeting, the sides considered prospects of enhancing investment cooperation. Today, 291 enterprises with Kyrgyz capital operate in Uzbekistan. The parties expressed willingness to increase the number of joint projects in the territories of the two countries in the production of finished textiles, pharmaceuticals, construction and agricultural products.
In this context, the sides agreed to elaborate a program of trade and economic cooperation and development of industrial cooperation for 2022-2025, as well as an agreement on organization of production of agricultural machinery and passenger cars and an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of circulation of medicines and medical products.
The sides discussed the activities of Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund that has already started financing the project in urban transport worth 1.85 million dollars. The sides reached an agreement on elaboration of financing of a project on establishment of a spinning enterprise and joint implementation of a project on primary processing of travertine in Kyrgyzstan.
Separately, the sides considered topical issues of implementation of major joint projects in hydropower and transport and logistics sectors.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have already decided on the location of the new car plant, where the Uzbek cars will be produced It is Sokuluk district of Chui region, which is adjacent to Bishkek.
