Nukus hosted an international conference dedicated to the 900th anniversary of the birth of Suleyman Bakirgani

Practical conference dedicated to the 900th anniversary of Hakima-at-Suleiman Bakygani was held in Moynak district and Nukus city of Karakalpakstan.

On September 29-30 an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 900th anniversary of Hakima-at-Suleiman Bakygani was held in Moynak district and Nukus city of Karakalpakstan.

It was attended by historians, archaeologists and writers, independent researchers and other representatives of research institutes, higher educational institutions of Australia, Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. 

 First, the conference participants visited the Moynak district, took part in the eco-festival "Revival of the Aral and Moynak" and the gastronomic festival "99 different dishes from the Aral Sea fish", and visited the Moynak environmental museum.

In addition, the festival included a visit to the Suleyman Bakirgani complex, located in Muynak district, and the recitation of suras from the Koran for the repose of the spirit of the great sheikh and mystic poet.

It is noted that the mausoleum over the tomb of Suleiman Bakirgani, a disciple of Haji Ahmad Yassaavi and teacher of Zangi-at, was erected in the XII, XIV and XVI centuries, and the last time in the XIX century by the Khiva khan Allahkulikhan. To date, according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan from January 16, 2019 № 37 "On measures for comprehensive socio-economic development of Moynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan" this pilgrimage complex, located in the southern part of Moynak district, was allocated more than 11 billion soums, in 2019-2021 repair and restoration work and landscaping were carried out.
