The Uzbek Ministry of Energy issued an appeal to consumers, which stated that this week, due to excessive temperatures, overheating of power transmission networks has been noted, which can lead to serious accidents in the network.

"Power grids, which are mostly under the open sun, are now heating up to temperatures not designed for their operation. In addition to very high temperatures, especially during the day, the failure of power transmission networks is affected by an extraordinary increase in electricity consumption," the report says.

It also emphasizes that in this case, overheating of the power transmission networks and increased consumption at any moment can lead to large-scale accidents in the system, which may require a significant time (a day or more) to normalize power supply. In order to prevent large-scale problems in the power system, dispatch services "take the necessary measures to reduce the load on the power transmission networks.

"In particular, if certain indicators approach a critical level, it will be necessary to temporarily disconnect power supply to some homes and industrial facilities," the ministry said. "When the indicators normalize, the dispatch service will immediately connect these facilities to the power supply."

The Ministry of Energy expressed the hope that consumers will understand the need for such measures, which will prevent large-scale grid failures that will take much longer to fix.
