On July 5, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation, according to UzDaily.uz.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Russian president expressed his support for the decisive measures taken by our head of state to stabilize the situation in Karakalpakstan.

Uzbek-Russian relations in strategic partnership and alliance have been considered, along with the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. Particular attention has been paid to the practical implementation of agreements reached during the summit in Moscow in November last year.

The activation of bilateral contacts and mutual exchanges was noted with satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of mutual trade has increased by 35%. The implementation of major investment projects and programs of cultural and humanitarian cooperation continues.

There was also an exchange of views on the regional agenda and a schedule of upcoming events, including a regular meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Samarkand.
